How to Make Your Own Distilled Water?

Distilled water is water that has no impurities in it, in other words all the impurities are removed through the process called distillation. This is mainly a two step process, one is boiling and the second is condensation. The water is known to be clear, odorless and tasteless. It is free of all pollutants of any kind and contains no inorganic minerals that are useless for human body.
In contrast to plants that feed on inorganic mineral soil by transforming them into organic minerals through the photosynthesis, the human body can not absorb them when they come from water aqueducts, spring or mineral water.
Distilled water is excellent for digestion, it increases the rate of assimilation, and normalizes the appetite. It cleans the metabolism from all deposits of inorganic minerals. It deeply moisturizes the skin. It is the best water you can drink. When it comes to cooking, it can be used for all kinds of meals such as soup, drink, coffee, etc… Distilled water enhances the taste of your meals prepared by its great power of dissolution.
You can make your own distilled water at home by using some simple techniques. After reading the above information if you want to make your distilled water and use it then follow the following steps.

  • Take a 5 gallon stainless steel pot and half fill it with water.
  • Then place a glass to float in the water. You would have to ensure that it floats and does not sink down to touch the bottom. This is to prevent the water that’s inside the bowl from boiling. Whether the bowl would float or sink depends on how much water you have inside the container.
  • Once you are set with the above steps, use the inverted part of your container filled with ice to form a heat/cold barricade to produce condensation effect. When the hot steam inside the pot hits your cold barrier then it condenses.
  • Heat your water up to its boiling point. As it boils, the steam that arises from the pot would condense on the outer part of the pot lid. Since the steam is condensing on the convex side of the lid it will drop down back into the pot.
  • Remove the lid with care. If there is any ice water left then scoop it off first. The water that dropped down will now be collected in the glass bowl. Then cool the water that’s been collected before packing it.
