Water

How Much Water should A Person Drink In A Day

The human body contains 70% of water. Therefore the body needs a lot of water in order for the organs to function well. Many people still don’t realise the importance of water and how vital it is to drink water everyday. If a person doesn’t drink enough water it may lead to a lot of consequences in the body.
A person should drink at least 7-8 litres of water in a day. It also depends on a persons weight. If a person is more in weight, the more he/she has to drink. For a person who works out regularly has to drink one full glass of water after a work out as he would lose water by sweating. Drink one glass of water after you wake up in the morning and keep drinking water before and after meals. Make a concision effort of drinking water during the day and if you don’t like the taste of water add lemon or some fruit flavour in it.

Consequences of not drinking water:

Dehydration:

If a person doesn’t drink enough water the body suffers from dehydration and the organs don’t function well. Signs of dehydration are dry mouth, getting frequent headaches, weakness, dizziness and have a problem in seeing. There are many adults and infants that die every year from dehydration.
Since we all have a very hectic schedule our body goes through a lot of strain and loses a lot of water. People who workout or are more into vigorous exercise should also consume a lot of water as they lose water by sweating. Other than the physical exercise the human body also performs activities like breathing, sweating, urinating therefore water is lost in this ways as well.
Other than directly drinking water one can consume water indirectly, that is by eating lots of fruits which contains water like pineapple, water melon, oranges etc. and vegetables as vegetables also contain water in some form. Water helps to maintaining a balance of temperature in the body and flushes the toxics and wastes from the body.
